The Dangers of the Mission

By Shiraishi Mayumi

"Mou," Yohji complained, "How long are we going to stand here?" The blonde waited impatiently on a rooftop next to Omi and Ran, shifting from one black boot to the other restlessly.

"Until Ken's completed his part." Omi said calmly. "Once he's gone in to clear up the main halls, you and Ran go in and get rid of the ones down the private halls." He then turned to Yohji with a frown. "You know that. We do this every mission."

Yohji pouted, but Omi just raised an eyebrow at him and turned to the laptop on his lap once again. Turning down his lip and widening big, green eyes from behind sunglasses, he turned to Aya, who just glared at him.

"You two are no fun!" He folded his arms and plopped down on the floor. Yohji tapped his fingers restlessly against the cement floor, looking around for something with which to occupy his time. Looking up, he found Omi's side. A slow, malicious grin graced the assassin’s face as an idea formed in his head.

Creeping slowly, silently, as to not alert the younger Weiß member, he reached his hand out slowly for Omi's side.

"What are you doing?"

Yohji jumped slightly, and dropped his hand. Omi turned around, glared at Yohji and returned to his work. "Aya, you're no fun at all!" Yohji stood up and glared at the redhead. "You're such a spoilsport! Always ruining my fun!"

"This is a mission. You're not supposed to have fun; you're supposed to get the work done."

Omi grinned. "Hey, Aya-kun! That rhymed!"

Aya rolled his eyes.

"Oh, for god's sake, Aya, I was just going to tickle the boy!" Yohji exclaimed, more than slightly exasperated at the overly stubborn katana-wielding member of Weiß.

Omi blinked. "Tickle me? Why?"

Yohji shrugged. "Because I'm bored. And you look like the type who would be very ticklish."

Aya shifted slightly, but neither Yohji nor Omi noticed.

"I'm not ticklish at all." Omi shrugged. "Never have been."

This time Yohji blinked. "No way. You're too bishounen not to be ticklish!"

Omi's cheeks reddened. "And what's that supposed to mean?"

Yohji smirked again, and crept towards the boy, wiggling his fingers menacingly. "Oh yeah...?" He mercilessly attacked the boy's side, and Omi just stood there.

"See?"

Aya shifted again, this time more visibly, but not enough to catch the attention of the otherwise occupied Omi and Yohji.

Yohji frowned. "Well, not everyone's ticklish on their side. Maybe you're ticklish somewhere else..." He attacked Omi's neck, then his armpits, elbows, knee pits....

Finally, Yohji groaned and sat back. "I give up! This boy isn't ticklish at all!"

Aya coughed.

"What is it, Aya?" Yohji asked tiredly, turning towards him.

"B... betsuni."

The blonde narrowed his eyes. "Uso."

Violet eyes darted around, somewhat nervously. "It's nothing. Leave me alone."

An idea formed in Yohji's head. "Omi's not ticklish.... so.... are YOU ticklish, Aya?"

"N... no!" The redhead started scooting nervously away from the grinning blonde.

"Hehehe..." Yohji crept towards Aya, and Omi watched on in disbelief.

"Yohji, don't! Aya-kun's gonna kill you, you know!"

"Not if he's laughing too hard to do anything about it! I'm determined to see this man laugh, dammit!"

Aya picked up his pace, running around the top of the roof in even circles.

"Oh, no you don't!" Yohji jumped and dived, landing evenly on Aya and bringing the two down with a large crash.

Omi winced. "You two being loud enough?!"

"Ha ha! Got you now, Aya!" That having been said, he proceeded to attack the redhead's side with even more determination than he had Omi's.

Aya tried to compose himself. Clenching his mouth closed, squeezing his eyes shut... but soon, his eyes started to water, and the corners of his mouth quirked up.

Yohji's eyes widened, as he realized that he was, for what is most likely the first and only time it would ever occur, watching Aya start to laugh.

"Ne, Omi! Mitte, mitte! Hayaku!"

Omi stood up slowly and made his way across to the two assassins, rolling his eyes all the way. "You know, you two act like a couple of-" He stopped mid-sentence as he watched Aya's mouth quirk upward. Dropping his headset, he gaped openly. "Aya-kun is... is..."

"Laughing?" Yohji grinned triumphantly as he continued to tickle the slightly younger man. "You know I won't give up until you actually laugh, Aya!"

"I... won't.... lose...." Aya squirmed, fighting and losing the battle of laughter. But he was going to go down fighting, dammit!

Ten minutes later, Aya broke. His mouth opened and a burst of laughter ruptured the silence of anticipation, and Omi watched the two older assassins grinning and laughing at each other. Tears were streaming down Aya's face, and his mouth was turned upward in a large, cheerful laugh, which seemed almost misplaced on the face of one who was normally so cold.

Finally the laughter subsided, and Aya caught is breath. "You know, Yohji..." He begain.

Yohji turned to Aya, still grinning. "What, Aya?"

With a pleasant grin, Aya said, "Now I have to kill you." Grabbing his katana, he stood, threw the sheath to the floor, and charged at the panicked blonde.

"M... matte! Aya!" Yohji squeaked as he barely managed to dodge Aya's flying katana, and scrambled to his feet.

The two chased each other around the roof, Aya screaming and waving his katana and Yohji sweatdropping and panicking, shamelessly begging Yohji to drop the katana.

Omi shook his head, laughing to himself, when he heard a faint squawk, like a distant scream over a radio wave.

His eyes widened. "Shimatta! I forgot Ken-kun!" He scrambled for the radio, and hastily returned the earpiece to his ear. "H... hai, Ken-kun?"

"Where the hell were you?!" He demanded incredulously. "I've had to fend of the guys in the private halls for the last ten minutes!"

"Aaa.. that is... we were... uhn... busy..."

"What? Were you guys attacked? Was it an ambush?" Ken sounded worried.

"No, no, no... I'll get Yohji-kun and Aya-kun down there right away, okay, Ken-kun?" He clicked off the radio and turned to the blonde and the redhead, who were still chasing each other tirelessly around the rooftops. Omi sweatdropped.

"It's gonna be a long mission..."
